Advice & Information
Switching to Regent Gas is very simple – it is just these few, industry-standard steps:
- Contract
If you are happy with our quote, then we will send a copy of the contract to you by post. After receipt of the contract, please check all the details in it and, after satisfying yourself that everything is correct, please sign it and return it to us, with a copy of a letter showing that you have terminated your existing contract.
- Confirmation
After receiving the contract from you, we will ask Xoserve to transfer the gas supply to us from your existing supplier.
- Withdrawal
It normally takes 21 working days to transfer the supply of gas from your existing supplier to Regent Gas, unless the transfer is objected to by your existing supplier.
- Objection
The reasons why your current supplier might object to you withdrawing from them and taking us up as you supplier are: 1) you are still under contract with them, or 2) you still owe money to them for gas supplied. If your current supplier does object, we will of course inform you of this.
- Transfer Read
Once the site is transferred, we will inform you of the date from which we will start supplying gas to you. (This is the ‘live’ date). A Meter Reader will then visit you to read the meter as soon as possible after the transfer date. The Meter Reading will be given to us, as well as sent to your previous supplier, who will invoice you with their final read. We will start invoicing you from the date of that final read.
